Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on Mykhailo Mudryk following his impressive performance against Panathinaikos in the Conference League on Thursday.
The 23-year-old was not in the matchday squad to face Liverpool last weekend, but he got the nod in the starting XI in Athens. He made the most of the performance with one goal and two assists.
Following the game, Maresca said that he is very happy for the Ukraine international, who was the stand-out performer alongside Joao Felix.
He said: "Very happy, not for me but for him. We as a staff, we spend a long, long time to help the players; not only Misha but the whole squad."
The Blues have made the perfect start in the Conference League with back-to-back wins against Gent and Panathinaikos with comfortable scorelines.
Chelsea will now return to Premier League action against Newcastle United on Sunday. They need to win to keep up in the hunt for the top four.
