Incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is keen on signing Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande, according to The Sun.
The Red Devils recently confirmed the appointment of Amorim as their new manager and he will take charge from November 11 onwards.
Amorim is expected to be backed with some transfer funds and the Portuguese already has his sights on reuniting with Diomande.
The Ivorian ace was signed under his regime from FC Midtjylland last year, and he has since developed into a top quality central defender.
The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with him in the past, but United could now have the advantage with Amorim at the helm.
Nonetheless, Sporting have no desire of losing him on the cheap and they are expected to demand at least £70 million to sanction his exit.
The Lisbon giants are unlikely to provide any discount on the price as their relationship with Amorim has become sour with his mid-season exit.
