Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that the Blues are not ready to challenge Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
The Blues continued their impressive league form with a convincing 3-0 win over Aston Villa. Cole Palmer was the pick of the players with a goal and an assist to his name.
Speaking after the game, Maresca was presented with plenty of questions from reporters and one of those was on whether they can challenge for the title this campaign.
In response, the Italian said that the Blues are not ready to compete with the best, but the good thing is that they are improving and can be in the pursuit in the coming years.
He said: "I do not agree with that. We are not ready to compete with Liverpool, Arsenal and City for many reasons. Because we win today."
"I am not going to change my idea. We are not ready for that. The good thing is we are improving. Soon, hopefully we can be there."
Chelsea have moved to third in the league table after beating Aston Villa. They are equal on points and goal difference with second-placed Arsenal.
The Blues face Southampton away from home in the Premier League in midweek. A dominating win could take them to second in the standings.
