George Boateng has been linked with a move to Sunderland. The Middlesbrough midfielder is keen to leave the club this summer, and Roy Keane is believed to have offered the player a deal.

  • "I'd like him to stay,” said Boro boss Gareth Southgate. “If he does, he knows he would be an important part of the squad. There would be no guarantee that he would be in the side, but there'd be no guarantee that he wouldn't.”



    The Dutchman has also been linked with a move to Feyenoord and Ajax.
