Ipswich Town are all set to complete a move to sign Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene for a fee of around £15 million after Villa manager Unai Emery reportedly told the 22-year-old that he is free to leave Villa Park. Philogene only returned to Villa during the summer transfer window from Hull City, and will be allowed to depart after just six months.
Philogene will travel to Ipswich for a medical on Thursday morning and a deal is expected to be agreed and announced by Friday afternoon, with the player being available to take part in the club's next game.
It is understood that Villa are hopeful replacement players will be brought to the club during the January transfer window, although director of football at Villa, Monchi, would not be drawn on his preferred targets.
Philogene will sign a four year contract at Ipswich Town and will improve his salary with a move to the Premier League strugglers.
Last summer, Barcelona were amongst the teams linked with a surprise move for the winger before Villa re-signed him.
