Podolski may return to Koln

23 May 2008 - 14:38

FC Koln's coach Christoph Daum has admitted that he would consider making a move for Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski. The German striker is reportedly unhappy at the Bavarian side and eager to leave in the summer, with Man City also interested.

  • Daum told the Kolner Express: "If there is the possibility for us, then we will discuss the P-Plan.

"If Lukas gets the clearance from Bayern then I am sure that there are people here who support us who can finance his move.

"We also know that an international player and an icon like him would not only open sporting possibilities for us."

Daum insists the club will get the go-ahead from Bayern before approaching the player.

"We have to pay attention to the Bundesliga's rules. Anything else would be unfair on Bayern, (new coach) Jurgen Klinsmann and Lukas Podolski. We don't live in anarchy."
