Manchester United have opened the door for the departure of Tyrell Malacia during the ongoing transfer window.
The Netherlands international has been out-of-favour under manager Ruben Amorim in recent weeks. He was only a late substitute against Arsenal yesterday.
Fabrizio Romano now claims that the club are open to sanctioning the defender's exit. They are prepared to accept an initial loan deal with a possible buy clause.
Malacia has been associated with Serie A newcomers Como over the past few days, but Romano has clarified that there has been no contact from Cesc Fabregas' side so far.
The Dutchman has also been linked with the likes of Fenerbahce and Lyon in the past. It remains to be seen whether either of those clubs make an approach this winter.
Should Malacia head for the exit door, the Red Devils could swoop for the services of Alvaro Fernandez from Benfica. They have a buy-back clause worth £17 million.
