Manchester United have turned down an opening bid from Napoli to sign Alejandro Garnacho this winter, according to Daily Star.
The Serie A giants recently permitted the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Antonio Conte is eyeing a replacement.
Conte has identified Garnacho as the prime target and the Naples outfit have made an opening bid in the region of £40 million for his services.
The proposal has been immediately rejected by the Red Devils. It is claimed that Garnacho won't be sold for anything less than £65 million.
Garnacho has been a regular starter for United in the last few games, but his agent is working behind the scenes to secure an exit from Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old is aware that he won't be a guaranteed starter in the long-term and he is prepared to move to the Italian top-flight with Napoli.
It remains to be seen whether Napoli make a renewed approach for him.
