Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan following injuries to Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez this month, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues suffered a double setback recently with Lavia and Fernandez picking up injuries. Manager Enzo Maresca revealed that he does not have any return date for them.
The club are now eyeing an experienced signing to fill the void and they have proposed to land Luiz on loan. Manchester City have made a similar offer on the table to the Bianconeri.
The Serie A giants have no intention to accept a temporary deal and they are likely to keep hold of the Brazilian unless they receive a permanent transfer bid in the next few days.
Chelsea are unlikely to spend around €40m on the Brazilian star and we won't be surprised if they consider recalling one of their midfielders on loan in the coming days.
The club have Lesley Ugochukwu and Andrey Santos on loan at Southampton and Strasbourg respectively and one of them could be recalled by the manager.
