Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Rangers, Mainoo dropped

23 January 2025 - 18:58

Manchester United welcome Rangers to Old Trafford for tonight's Europa League clash.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • The Red Devils suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League last weekend and they will be aiming to make amends.

Ahead of the game, manager Ruben Amorim is bound to make some changes.

    Formation: 3-4-2-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana made a high-profile error in the Seagulls loss, but he continues to earn the faith of the manager. He is expected to start in goal.

The central defence could see a change with Leny Yoro making way for Lisandro Martinez. He will partner Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt.

Noussair Mazraoui was poor in the right wing-back position against Brighton and he could be dropped to the bench against Rangers.

Amad Diallo could slot in the right wing-back role with Diogo Dalot on the other side.

In central midfield, Manuel Ugarte could be accompanied by Toby Collyer, who has been brilliant in his cameo appearances this month.

Kobbie Mainoo has looked out of sorts over the last two games. The United graduate could be given a breather. He could come off the bench.

Alejandro Garnacho's future is uncertain, but we are backing him to start tonight alongside Bruno Fernandes in the number 10 positions.

Joshua Zirkzee won a penalty in the defeat to Brighton. The Dutchman deserves to continue leading the line ahead of Rasmus Hojlund.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Rangers: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Diallo, Ugarte, Collyer, Dalot; Garnacho, Fernandes; Zirkzee.
