Arsenal are in advanced negotiations with Rosenborg to land the signature of Sverre Nypan, according to David Ornstein.
The 18-year-old is one of the best young playmakers in European football and he has managed 18 goal contributions this term.
Martin Odegaard has personally spoken with him this month and Ornstein claims that Arsenal are working on a deal to land him.
Manchester City are also in the pursuit of the attacker, but Arsenal have an edge with talks advanced with his representatives too.
City want to loan him out to Girona for the short term. On the other hand, Arsenal could guarantee him minutes from the off.
Nypan can play in the no.10 and no.8 roles and he could be seen as a valuable addition with his creativity and goalscoring.
The transfer fee has not been mentioned, but it has been claimed in the past that he could be prised away for around €10 million.
Arsenal could seal the deal in the next couple of days.
