Arsenal have rejected the proposal to sell midfielder Jorginho to Flamengo before the transfer deadline, according to Globo.
The Italian has been a rotational player for the Gunners this campaign. He recently started against Girona in the Champions League.
His current deal expires at the end of the season, but Flamengo recently attempted to negotiate a mid-season transfer with Arsenal.
The London giants snubbed the offer on the table. Jorginho is now expected to join Flamengo on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Arsenal are already in advanced negotiations to land Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in a deal around €60 million this summer.
Zubimendi is expected to be a replacement for Jorginho. There is a possibility that Thomas Partey could also head for the exit door.
Partey has had an injury-free campaign with the Gunners, but the club have no plans of renewing his £200,000 per week deal beyond June.
Atletico Madrid are open to re-signing their former midfielder.
