Manchester United wonderkid Chido Obi won't be available for the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
The 17-year-old has been a regular substitute for the Red Devils this month. He came on for Rasmus Hojlund against Fulham recently and produced a good showing.
The teenager missed three big chances to score. One of those looked destined to find the back of the net, but goalkeeper Bernd Leno came up with a fantastic save.
Obi is now ineligible to face Sociedad in the Europa League. He was not registered in the A-list squad and can't be picked in the B-list either for the knock-out stage.
Obi arrived from Arsenal's academy last summer. He needs to spend at least two years at the club to become eligible to make the B-list for players aged 21 or below.
Hojlund is expected to continue as the main striker versus Sociedad.Â
