Manchester United are seriously keen on signing Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand at the end of the campaign, according to Stretty News.
The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their midfield department this summer with Christian Eriksen set to leave on a free transfer agreement.
The focus could be on landing a defensive midfielder and reports claim that the club are serious about landing Hjulmand from the Portuguese champions.
Hjulmand has a strong relationship with United manager Ruben Amorim from their time together in Lisbon. A reunion could be on the cards later this year.
There is a release clause worth €80m in his contract at Sporting CP, but United are optimistic of landing his services for around €60m.
The arrival of Hjulmand at Old Trafford could also contribute to the departure of Casemiro, who has been a fringe player this season.
Casemiro has been on the radar of Saudi Pro League clubs for a while and there is a possibility that he could move to the Middle East soon.
