Manchester United have made initial contact to sign Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Red Devils have had a poor Premier League campaign and they are presently 13th in the standings with just 37 points on the board.
The club are expected to strengthen their striking department in the summer, but they could also recruit a new shot-stopper for manager Ruben Amorim.
Onana has made eight errors leading to goals since last season. The Red Devils need a better solution between the sticks for the long-term.
Gazzetta claim that the club could be looking to part ways with Onana. The hierarchy have asked for information on Verbruggen over recent weeks.
United are keeping tabs on the Dutchman and could make a genuine approach for the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with AC Milan.
Brighton are likely to demand at least £40m to part ways with him. Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the goalkeeper's situation.
