Manchester United are planning to recruit Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap after securing the signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha.
Cunha has already agreed personal terms over a transfer with United and the club are expected to pay his release clause worth £63 million in three instalments.
The Athletic now report that Delap is the next player on their radar and the striker has received permission to speak with United's officials in Manchester this week.
The 22-year-old has had a good season with Ipswich Town, scoring 12 goals. He can leave for just £30 million after their top-flight relegation was confirmed.
Delap is also expected to meet with Chelsea's hierarchy in the coming days. He is likely to decide on his next destination before the end of the month.
Chelsea and United could both qualify for the Champions League. This could have a huge bearing on his transfer decision in the coming days.
If one of them miss out, the other could have a big advantage.
