Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that the club must spend big to bolster their forward department for next season.
The Gunners have had numerous injury concerns this campaign. This has played a big part in the second-placed league finish.
The club are poised to make a huge outlay on signings this summer. When quizzed over the speculation regarding Rodrygo, Arteta said:
"What is clear with the amount of injuries that we had in the frontline is that we need a goal threat and we need firepower.
"Understanding that the context can change tomorrow, we cannot rely just on the numbers that we had before."
Arsenal are expected to sign a marquee striker in the coming weeks. A versatile winger could be another top priority for the club.
Rodrygo has emerged as a surprise target over the past few weeks with speculation that Real Madrid could sanction his transfer.
However, a deal won't be easy to pull off. Madrid could demand a staggering £84m while Rodrygo's wages could be high too.
