Yeung still wants Birmingham

Yeung still wants Birmingham

26 May 2008 - 10:48

Relegated Birmingham City are still on the radar of Hong Kong millionaire Carson Yeung this summer. The club are relegated to the Championship and are reportedly back on the market.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Spokesman Sammy Yu claims Yeung wants the club still: "Hopefully one day we can take the club over," he claimed.

"We thought that if we get involved in the club at least for some time, then we can take over and guarantee that nothing will go wrong.

"But then when an article appeared in a Birmingham match programme saying that Mr Sullivan would not deal with Mr Yeung, it made us feel disappointed because it was not even close to the so-called deadline to buy the club outright.

"We have been very polite but they have been quite unreasonable.

"We didn't ask for anything nor have we done anything to hurt the club. All we have done is support the club."
