Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Gunners were recently keen on extending the contract of midfielder Thomas Partey, but were unable to finalised terms with him.
The Ghanaian wanted a pay rise to extend his stay with the Gunners, but the club's hierarchy decided against meeting his contract demands.
Partey is now expected to leave on a free transfer when his deal expires on June 30. Norgaard is poised to join the club as his replacement.
The Danish midfielder has been a key player for Brentford over the years. He has stood out from the number six role as their captain.
Arsenal have now finalised an initial £10 million fee to sign the 31-year-old. He has been granted permission to undergo his medical.
Norgaard is set to become Arsenal's deputy holding midfielder next term. Martin Zubimendi, who is due to arrive from Real Sociedad, will be the club's regular choice for the defensive midfield role.
