Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling, according to BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel.
The England international spent the previous campaign on loan at Arsenal, where he had a miserable time.
Sterling joined the Gunners with a point to prove, but he did not make a single goal contribution in the league.
The Englishman was a regular on the bench and Arsenal had no plans of securing a permanent deal for him.
Sterling has now returned to the Blues to sort out his future and the club reportedly value him at £20 million.
However, a permanent transfer may not be possible, considering Sterling has no plans of lowering his salary.
He earns a package of more than £300,000 per week at the Blues, and a loan departure could be the best solution.
Leverkusen have come forward as an interested club. It remains to be seen whether the Blues are ready to loan him out again while paying a major portion on his weekly wages.
