Barcas Caceres offer rejected

Barca's Caceres offer rejected

27 May 2008 - 18:58

Villarreal president Fernando Roig has confirmed that they have rejected an 'unsatisfactory' offer from Barcelona for Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres. The 21 year old has emerged as one of Josep Guardiola's top priority signings this summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Roig confirmed the offer: "This morning an offer arrived from Barcelona for our player Martin Caceres, which we have deemed as unsatisfactory and therefore have rejected.

"We are in a situation whereby we will negotiate with Barcelona.

"If the offer they make us is what we would deem to be a good option, then OK.

"If not; the player has four years remaining on his contract and he will be a Villarreal player."
