Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed a hamstring injury for defender Jeremie Frimpong ahead of the Premier League clash against Newcastle United on the road this weekend.
The Reds started their campaign with a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace at Anfield and they now face a stern challenge against the Magpies at St James' Park.
Ahead of the encounter, Slot has confirmed that the club will be without the services of Frimpong, who sustained a hamstring injury in the season opener against the Eagles.
He was substituted before the hour mark in the game, and won't be available for the Reds until after the first international break of the campaign.
In his absence, Joe Gomez looks poised to start in the right-back position. Conor Bradley is another option for the manager if he is deemed fit.
Liverpool are unbeaten in the last 17 league encounters against the Magpies, but they lost the Carabao Cup final in March this year.
