Chelsea have agreed terms with Marc Cucurella with the 27-year-old confirming prior to the Blues' 5-1 win over West Ham that he had agreed terms on a fresh package. The player will now be with the club for five more years, extending his previous deal that had been set to expire in 2028. Cucurella has been a critical member of Chelsea's defence in recent years, and helped the club to victory in the Club World Cup and Europa Conference League last season.
The left-back has been an essential member for Enzo Maresca's recent successes, and also helped Spain to victory in Euro 2024. The former Brighton man has signed a deal despite interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
"Yes, it's done," Cucurella said to the media after the win over the Hammers. "We already did it. I'm very happy, the club gave me the confidence and I'm very happy to be here. Hopefully I will have a great year."
Cucurella will reportedly double his Blues salary on signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
