Arsenal have made an approach to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Piero Hincapie before the transfer window closes, according to David Ornstein.
The Gunners are looking to part ways with Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko, and they could seek to replace the duo with a single signing.
Hincapie can comfortably play at centre-back or left-back, and Arsenal have identified him as the perfect addition to the squad before the deadline.
The Ecuadorian ace has already given the green light for the transfer, and it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached with Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga giants want his release clause worth 60 million euros to be triggered for a transfer, but the defender has requested for a discount.
Hincapie believes the German outfit should accept a package of around 45 million euros to permit his move to the Gunners before the deadline.
He is prepared to give up on loyalty bonuses while his agent could forego his commission too for the transfer to materialise in the coming days.
