Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior will fly to Portugal today to discuss personal terms with FC Porto, after the Gunners accepted a bid of 20 million euros and 3.75 million more in installments for the Poland international defender. The former Spezia centre-back has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates and manager Mikel Arteta has given the all clear for the defender's departure.
Kiwior had also been linked with a return to Italy to Juventus, but it is understood no teams in Serie A were willing to match Arsenal's valuation. Porto, however, were impressed with Kiwior's performances in the Champions League last season and contacted the Gunners' board in May with regard to a move for Kiwior.
At that time, Arsenal were not willing to sell, but after summer new signings came through the door, it was clear that Kiwior would be allowed to depart.
With just a week left of the transfer window, it is likely Kiwior will now leave to the Portuguese giants, and Arsenal can start to recoup some of their enormous transfer expenditure.
