Arsenal have accepted a bid from Crystal Palace for 25-year-old winger Reiss Nelson, believed to be around £15 million. Nelson spent last season on loan at Fulham, and the Cottagers had hoped to bring the player back to West London but were unable to match the Gunners' valuation.
Palace, on the other hand, are hoping to leverage the transfer of Eberechi Eze to the Emirates Stadium and negotiate a fee for Nelson before the window closes on September 1st. Steve Parish, the Palace chairman, contacted Andrea Berta with regard to a move for Nelson yesterday and talks have commenced.
Nelson suffered an injury last season that prevented the player from performing for the Craven Cottage outfit as much as he had hoped, and now the winger wants another try at a top Premier League outfit.
Palace have money to spend, but time is running out as they seek a replacement for Eze, with the transfer window closure looming on September 1st.
Reiss Nelson has two years remaining on his Arsenal contract, earning a reported £100,000-per-week.
