Ederson has left Manchester City today in a deal worth around £13 million, and heads for Turkish club Fenerbahce. He departs the Etihad Stadium as a club legend, having won everything with the Cityzens. It is understood that a transfer for Gianluigi Donnarumma will be announced later on this busy transfer deadline day.
Multiple outlets report the green light from both clubs, with travel and medical timings lined up in Istanbul on deadline day.
After eight trophy-laden seasons at City, the 32-year-old Brazilian was open to a new challenge and regular minutes, while City moved to refresh the position with Donnarumma. The fee gives City a clean exit for a veteran on significant wages; for Fenerbahce, it’s a big acquisition that aligns with their win-now posture under a high-ambition project and European aims.
If the registration is finalized as expected, Ederson immediately raises the floor and ceiling of Fenerbahce’s back line and build-out and ends a hugely successful spell at the Etihad for the Brazilian, and one that will go down in Premier League history as one of the best keeper's to grace the English top flight in modern history.
