Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira picked up a knee injury during Hamburg's Bundesliga clash against Union Berlin on Sunday.
The Portuguese signed for the newly-promoted outfit on loan on deadline day with an option to buy for 20 million euros next summer.
Vieira has made a good start with one assist in three appearances, but he will be absent for the short-term due to multiple reasons.
The 25-year-old picked up a straight red card in the 98th minute after a rash challenge. In the process, he also picked up a knee injury.
It was initially feared that he had picked up a serious issue, but Kicker claim that the setback should not be a long-term one.
Vieira is suspended for the next two domestic games. With the international break coming up, he has the chance to fully recover.
Arsenal will hope that Vieira can make a significant impact at Hamburg so that he can secure a permanent move at the end of the season.
