Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has been withdrawn from international duty with Norway after sustaining a medical collateral ligament injury in his left knee.
The Gunners captain has had an injury-plagued campaign with the Gunners and he has already been sidelined with a couple of freak shoulder injuries.
Odegaard returned to the starting line-up in the Premier League against West Ham, but he lasted for only 30 minutes before he was taken off the pitch.
The 26-year-old suffered a knee-to-knee contact, and he will now be assessed by the club's doctors at the training ground during the international break.
Judging by the update, Odegaard's injury does not appear a minor one and he could be sidelined for a few games after the international break.
Arsenal have a winnable schedule on paper in the coming games but will be hoping to have Odegaard back in action at the earliest possibility.
The Gunners face Fulham on the road in the league after the interlul.
