Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez could make the matchday squad for the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on the road this weekend.
The Argentina international has been out of competitive action since February this year when he picked up a serious knee injury against Crystal Palace.
The centre-back was involved in full team training last week, but manager Ruben Amorim did not include him in the squad against Nottingham Forest.
The Portuguese tactician said that the game was too early for him, but Martinez could be involved in some capacity against Spurs on Saturday.
The World Cup winner may not necessarily start due to his lack of match sharpness, but could make a cameo appearance off the bench if required.
Luke Shaw has been the regular on the left side of the back three. His form has been huge impressive over the past four Premier League matches.
Shaw could move into the left wing-back role when Martinez starts as the left-sided centre-back. This could happen after the international break.
