Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an update on midfielder Romeo Lavia ahead of the Champions League encounter against Qarabag on the road tomorrow.
The Blues have picked up two wins in their opening three Champions League matches, and they are favourites to beat Qarabag in Wednesday's encounter.
Ahead of the game, Maresca has said that Lavia is 100 percent fit and training with the club. The Italian added that the Belgian needs to be handled with caution to avoid the prospect of future injuries.
He said: "The target is to keep him fit. He's training with us, he's okay, 100 percent fit. We need to be careful with him, we don't want him to be out again. He can finally enjoy being a football player.
Lavia has had an injury-plagued career with the Blues and barely made an impact in his first two seasons. The 23-year-old has finally got over his injury troubles, but his workload needs to be managed.
The former Manchester City man could start in the defensive midfield role against Qarabag tomorrow. Caicedo could feature as a right-back, just like against Ajax in the last Champions League encounter.
