Manchester United are open to landing the signature of former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan from Atletico Madrid this winter, according to Sunday Mirror.
The Red Devils explored a temporary move for the England international on deadline day last summer, but Atletico did not want to do business at the time.
However, the scenario could be different at the turn of the year. Gallagher has been a regular substitute for the La Liga outfit and he is keen on a new challenge with more starts.
Gallagher is determined to make the World Cup squad with England next summer and reports claim that United could make a fresh loan approach when the transfer window reopens.
Alongside United, Tottenham Hotspur could compete for his services. Spurs were keen on landing Gallagher during his time at Chelsea, but the Blues preferred to sell him abroad.
Gallagher was happy to stay at Atletico last summer, but his World Cup dream has obviously changed his stance in recent months.
