Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Hugo Ekitike is doubtful to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The Reds are currently fourth in the standings with 34 points, 14 adrift of the Gunners, who are comfortable top of the table after 20 games.
They have the opportunity to close the gap at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
Ahead of the game, Slot has revealed that Hugo Ekitike has yet to train and could be doubtful to feature against the Gunners on the road.
Ekitike has been the Reds' shining light during the ongoing campaign, and he has bagged 11 goals from 26 appearances in all competitions.
His absence would be a big blow for the Merseyside giants. It could mean Cody Gakpo may line up as the main striker against Arsenal.
Liverpool are unbeaten in the last three meetings versus the Gunners including a 1-0 win at Anfield earlier in the ongoing campaign.
Dominik Szoboszlai scored with a fabulous world-class free-kick.
