Chelsea are keen on landing Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz on a short-term loan until the end of the campaign, according to David Ornstein.
Luiz was on the radar of several Premier League clubs last summer, and he eventually joined Forest on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
The condition to play at least 45 minutes in 15 appearances has not been triggered, and Forest are prepared to mutually terminate his loan deal.
Ornstein now reports that Chelsea are eager to sign the Brazil international and believe he would be a good fit for their playing style under manager Liam Rosenior.
Negotiations are underway with the Bianconeri for the former Aston Villa man. Personal terms are unlikely to prove a stumbling block.
The Blues are fairly optimistic of securing a deal for the 27-year-old, who would provide much-needed experience in their midfield.
He may not be a guaranteed starter for the west London giants but could get regular minutes off the bench under new boss Rosenior.
