Manchester United could make a surprise move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta at the end of the campaign, as per The Mirror.
The Frenchman was on the radar of the Red Devils last summer, but they eventually opted to land Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig instead.
Mateta, on the other hand, came close to joining AC Milan earlier this month, but the Rossoneri pulled out of the deal after multiple medical tests.
The Rossoneri were not convinced over the striker's injury record and decided against securing his services before the transfer window closed.
Mateta will now rejoin the Palace squad, but he may struggle to secure a starting berth after the big-money signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Larsen has endured a tough time with Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the Eagles have backed him based on his progress made last season.
The Norwegian netted 14 times in the Premier League last term. He has managed just once goal this campaign, and will be aiming to do better.
