Chelsea could be prepared to spend £50 million to purchase Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs during the summer transfer window.
The west London giants have relied on Robert Sanchez in goal this campaign. The Spaniard has been guilty of numerous goalkeeping errors.
Sanchez remains the number one for the Blues, but the hierarchy could be tempted to make a change when the current season concludes.
Roefs has been a huge hit after his summer move to newly-promoted Sunderland. He has played a big part in their survival which many did not expect.
The Black Cats would ideally prefer to keep him in their ranks, but there is a strong possibility that he could leave for a premium package.
According to Sunderland Echo, the Blues are contemplating a change in goal and could be prepared to spend £50m to bring Roefs this summer.
Sanchez is most likely to be sold if that happens. The Spaniard has no plans of playing second fiddle to a new number none next season.
