03 June 2008 - 20:45

Mark Hughes is all set to become Manchester City's new coach after his current club Blackburn agreed a compensation package with the Citizens.

  • Sven-Goran Eriksson was sacked this week in a move that upset many Man City fans, but the club have moved quickly to get the support back on their side after they swooped to land the Welsh boss.

Hughes is regarded as one of the brightest young managers in football, and has been persistently linked with a move away from Rovers.

It is believed that Blackburn's lack of transfer activity this summer upset Hughes; who has been promised much more cash at the City of Manchester.
