Manchester United are unlikely to pursue a deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton during the summer transfer window, as per The Daily Mail.
The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their defensive midfield department with Casemiro set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
Wharton has been mentioned as among the top targets for the club, but reports claim that United are not contemplating an offer in the off-season.
United believe Wharton's playing style is quite similar to Kobbie Mainoo, who has strong distribution skills but lacks the defensive firepower.
Hence, the Red Devils are not contemplating an offer for the former Blackburn Rovers man when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Similarly, they are unlikely to pay over the odds for Sandro Tonali and seem second favourites behind Manchester City for Elliot Anderson.
The club are more likely to land the services of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba at the end of the ongoing league season.
