Chelsea are expected to name a new captain with midfielder Enzo Fernandez and defender Reece James ruled out of the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
James picked up a hamstring injury earlier last month and the Englishman has been ruled out of the weekend encounter. Alongside him, Fernandez won't play any part against the Cityzens,
The Argentine has been suspended for his misconduct during the international break. Hence, the Blues have to pick up a new captain and The Guardian claim that Moises Caicedo will take the role.
Caicedo has had a mixed campaign by his high standards and has picked up several needless bookings. Despite this, he is highly rated by the club and has been praised for his leadership skills too.
Hence, he is a clear-cut favourite to be captain when the Cityzens visit Stamford Bridge. The Blues face a must-win situation to avoid losing further ground in the Champions League race.
