Manchester United must explore a deal for Sporting CP left-back Maxi Araujo who had a top-class performance against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final yesterday.
The Uruguayan has been tipped to leave the Portuguese champions and reports claim that he could be available for around £35 million this summer.
Araujo has caught the eye with his all-round displays and he showed his ability during the 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final last night.
The 26-year-old won 10 duels alongside seven tackles. He also made seven recoveries with some clever tactical fouls. He was probably lucky to avoid a booking in the end.
Araujo also came on the cusp of scoring for the Lisbon giants. David Raya made a stellar fingertip save to ensure that the Gunners did not concede early on in the contest.
Arsenal have a slender 1-0 lead before the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next Wednesday. Araujo has the chance to prove his credentials from left-back once more.
