The price-tag set by Valencia has put all the top clubs in the world on alert. The £17M asking price is less than half his £30M plus recent value.
Villa has been linked with several top clubs in the winter transfer season, and this low price tag will invite more takers. Arsenal have been keen on signing him, and they will have to compete with Tottenham, who is also interested in the player.
The Spanish clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keen to sign him.
