Arsenal and Manchester United are prepared to battle it out for the signature of Atalanta midfielder Ederson at the end of the campaign.
The Brazilian has been a mainstay for the Serie A outfit over the years, but he is expected to leave with his contract expiring next year.
Atletico were leading the player's pursuit earlier this year, but there has been a disagreement over personal terms with the 26-year-old.
Furthermore, the club are also reluctant to meet Atalanta's valuation of 45 million euros for Ederson, who can play in multiple midfield roles.
Hence, Arsenal and Man Utd have been handed a boost in the pursuit. The duo have the financial firepower to meet the demands of Atalanta.
A move could well depend on the guarantee of regular playing time. Arsenal may not provide that with Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice being assured starters in the centre of the park.
It could happen at United instead. With Casemiro on his way out on a free transfer, Ederson has the chance to become a regular starter for them.
