Calum McFarlane confirms season-ending injury for Chelsea star

24 April 2026 - 20:08

Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has confirmed that the Blues will be without a key player for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Chelsea duo back in training for Leeds game
  • Cesc Fabregas free to become Chelsea manager

  • The west London giants have been hampered by injuries throughout the season, and they have suffered yet another untimely blow.

Estevao picked up a hamstring injury in the Premier League loss to Manchester United, and he is now sidelined for the campaign.

The same was confirmed in the pre-match presser before the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds, McFarlane said: "Estevao, unfortunately, won't play for us [again] this season. We are here to support him."

The youngster has had many standout moments for the Blues this term and his absence will be felt on the right wing for the remaining matches.

Chelsea are in danger of missing out on European qualification via the league, but could still make the Europa League by lifting the FA Cup.

In Estevao's absence, Pedro Neto looks poised to get an extended run on the right flank for the west London giants for the rest of the season.
