Como president Mirwan Suwarso has said that Cesc Fabregas is free to become the next Chelsea manager if he wishes to.
The Blues recently parted ways with Liam Rosenior for the head coach position and have placed Calum McFarlane on temporary charge for the remainder of the campaign.
They have also begun the process of finding a quality replacement, and reports claim that Fabregas is one of the leading names under consideration to fill the lucrative vacancy.
Suwarso has now opened the door by acknowledging that Como won't restrict Fabregas from making the switch to the Blues this summer.
He told CityAM: "If that makes him happy, that’s him. You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes."
Fabregas has guided Como to fifth in Serie A. They may come short in the Champions League qualification race, but they have already exceeded expectations under the Spanish tactician.
Chelsea could open talks with Como as soon as the season ends.
