Chelsea tipped to sell £30m striker this summer

08 May 2026 - 21:07

Chelsea are likely to part ways with striker Liam Delap when the transfer window reopens this summer.

  • Arsenal & Chelsea want to sign ex-Forest midfielder
  • Chelsea set for massive double injury boost vs Liverpool

  • The west London giants landed the Englishman from Ipswich Town for around £30 million last summer.

It was considered a huge coup at the time, given that Delap turned down interest from Manchester United.

However, the striker has endured a difficult season with the Blues, and he is pretty much a backup at the moment.

Joao Pedro has become an undisputed starter upfront when fit, and Delap has had to adjust to minutes off the bench.

Delap is determined to prove himself next season after a campaign with injuries, but the Blues could yet sell him.

Delap, who has netted just two goals from 38 appearances this term, has recently re-emerged on Ipswich's radar.

The Tractor Boys are back in the Premier League after securing promotion with a second-place Championship finish.

They have fond memories of Delap's time at the club and could make a bid to re-sign him in the next transfer window.
