Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has urged the Red Devils' hierarchy to land Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer, according to Sky Sport Italy.
The Red Devils are determined to bolster their midfield in the next transfer window, with multiple players likely to depart. Casemiro will leave on a free when his contract expires on June 30.
Meanwhile, Manuel Ugarte has been deemed surplus to requirements and could be offloaded too. The Red Devils are already working on a deal for Ederson and it is claimed that Tonali is also on their transfer radar.
Carrick has personally recommended the board to land Tonali and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy make a move to purchase the former AC Milan man from the Magpies.
Newcastle are quite clear that they won't let him go on the cheap and they are expected to demand at least £100 million to part ways with the highly-rated Italy international this summer.
