Arsenal have received the green light to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez through his representatives, according to Cadena SER.
The north London giants ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title last week and will be eyeing Champions League glory this weekend.
Irrespective of this, they are expected to spend big in the transfer market this summer and a versatile marquee forward is said to be the prime target.
Alvarez has emerged as the perfect candidate to fill that void and the Gunners are prepared to battle it out with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for the 26-year-old.
Mikel Arteta's side have received the green light from his entourage but are yet to hold formal negotiations with Atletico for a possible transfer.
Atletico are aware that Alvarez wants to leave the club this summer, but are unlikely to let him go on the cheap and will demand £120m at least.
Barcelona may not meet such a huge price tag amid their financial concerns and it could be a battle between Arsenal and PSG for his services.
