Man Utd make final transfer decision on Elliot Anderson

10 June 2026 - 20:20

Manchester United have decided to end their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson after learning about the hefty price tag.

  • Chelsea have clear transfer stance on Julian Alvarez
  • Arsenal lining up move for Sandro Tonali

  • The England international has been touted to leave the Tricky Trees over the last few weeks, but they have yet to consider his departure.

Manchester City made a staggering £106m bid for the 23-year-old with a further £14m in add-ons, but Forest want at least £125m upfront.

After learning about the enormous valuation, United have decided to switch their focus elsewhere to bolster their midfield department.

The Red Devils felt they could sign Anderson for around £100m, but it is highly unlikely that will happen after learning Forest's stance.

United are already looking at alternative options. Brighton & Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba is one of the players under consideration.

West Ham United's Mateus Fernandes is another possible candidate, though United have no plans of paying £80m for the 21-year-old.

They could turn to Sporting CP for Morten Hjulmand.
