Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has tonight moved a step closer to moving to Italy after the two clubs reportedly agreed on a £12 million fee for the midfielder.
Xabi Alonso has been linked with a move to Serie A since January, and it seems that Liverpool have decided now may be the time to let the player go.
With the £12 million offer on the table, it will be hard for the club to resist.
Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri is desperate to land a proven centre midfielder this summer after being let down by several of his own recruits including Portugal international Tiago Mendes.
Alonso is understood to be set to join Juventus after the Euro 2008 tournament is completed.
