Manchester United are eyeing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe as a potential replacement for Joshua Zirkzee this summer, as per Caught Offside.
The Red Devils brought in Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig last summer and he had a good campaign with 11 goals in the English top-flight.
Zirkzee, on the other hand, barely impressed for the Red Devils over the last two seasons and there is speculation that he could be offloaded.
If that ends up being the case, Mateta could emerge as a prime target for the Mancunian giants, having already been linked earlier this year.
Back then, United did not follow up their interest. AC Milan ended up agreeing on a £30m package with Palace, only for Mateta to fail a medical.
Mateta had an injured knee at the time which pulled the plug on the deal but he is expected to leave the Eagles this time around with no plans to extend his contract which expires in June next year.
